01Meet people where they already are
In most of our markets the customer is already on WhatsApp all day. Asking them to open a website, find a widget and wait for a reply adds friction at exactly the moment they were ready to buy.
A web widget still earns its place for logged-in support inside a product, where identity and context are already known. Outside that, it usually collects fewer, colder conversations.
02One inbox, or the data is worthless
The failure mode is not the channel; it is having four of them with no shared history. Sales answers on Instagram, support answers on WhatsApp, and nobody can tell you what a customer was promised last month.
Route every channel into one threaded record per customer. Once that exists, response time, resolution rate and revenue per conversation become measurable instead of anecdotal.
03Automate the first minute, not the whole conversation
An instant acknowledgement, a qualification question and a routing decision cover most of the value. Trying to close a complex deal entirely in automation is where trust breaks.
Keep a visible, one-tap route to a person. The point of automation here is to make the human faster, not to hide them.
04Track it as a funnel
Tag conversations at entry, mark the outcome at exit, and you can finally attribute revenue to a channel. Most businesses discover their cheapest channel was the one they were treating as a side door.
